How To Find The Perfect Lash Artist

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

Lash Extensions are very exciting! The feeling of waking up every morning knowing you can skip make up or mascara to enjoy 10 extra minutes of rest is a relief to those with a busy life.

But lash extensions can also be very harmful if done wrong. Which is why finding a skilled and certified lash studio is extremely important.

Step 1. Locate an artist

With social media being so accessible, it is pretty easy to locate all the nearest lash techs. Head to Instagram or Google and try searching something similar to "Lash extensions Your City". Go through a few pages and see which one is most similar to the look you're hoping for.

Step 2. Look into their work!

Once you've come across a lash studio that has caught your eye, look deeper into their photos and posts. Check out their lash integrity, fullness, style and more. The lash artist you go to will depend on the look they tend to create and if it aligns with what you're hoping for.

Step 3. Reach out!

Now that you've decided on a place to have your lashes done, check their Instagram Bio or website to find out how to contact them. Before booking your appointment (and most likely sending a non refundable deposit), you want to make sure they are legitimate and reliable. Tell them you're interested in having lashes done and if it's your first time, maybe get some recommendations on what type of set you'd need. A lash artist that is understanding and willing to help is more likely going to be someone you're more comfortable with at your appointment.

Step 4. Book your appointment!

Once you're going through the process of booking your appointment, you want to make sure you're choosing the right time. Keep in mind that you will have to have your eyes closed for about 1.5-3 hours depending on the lash tech's speed and your natural lashes. So ensure you have enough time booked off from your busy life to relax and not feel rushed or as though you're rushing your lash artist. Another thing to consider is the after care. Once your lashes are done, you cannot get them directly wet for about 24 hours, so if you have a swim class that same night - it might be best to rethink that time slot.

I know, seems like a lot. But once you find your lash tech; one that gives you the look you want and makes you feel relaxed or entertained during your appointment - it becomes much easier!
